Living on Navy Time

In June, Wayne applied for the military adoption reimbursement. They said we should have the money in 10 days. Yippee!

10 days went by. No money. Wayne checked on it.

“Oh, has it been 30 days? You have to give them 30 days, because of the sequestration. Furloughs, you know.”

The 30 day mark passes. No money. Wayne checks on it.

“Well, has it been 6-8 weeks? It takes 6-8 weeks to process.”

We are now in week 9 since the paperwork was completed. Wayne checked with that office today.

“Has it been 90 days? It takes 90 days.”

Anyone else get the feeling they’re making this up as they go along?

    Did you ever get it?

Nope!! The new fiscal year starts October 1. We’re pretty sure we’ll get nothing before then. We’re also waiting on our move money…Wayne called this week and they said they had the paperwork, but they hadn’t assigned anyone to audit it yet. Probably because they know they aren’t going to pay anything until the new fiscal year. Wyah.
