The Zoo and Such

We took a very unusually relaxed approach to school for the past couple of weeks.  Every one – particularly me – was worn out and it seemed the best response.  We went to the zoo one day.  I didn’t take many pictures, because animal pictures don’t actually appeal to me a whole lot, but I thought this “animal” was quite interesting.  And cute.

“Look! I’m an animal!”

Emma refused to be in the picture.  Mostly, I am sure, to annoy me.

After the zoo, we stopped to eat at Zaxby’s (which for some reason we don’t have in Pensacola).  The kids split a big order of wings.  This amused an older couple next to us, who asked, “Ma’am? Don’t you feed him?”

Gotta keep up with his sisters. Couldn’t stand for them to get more!

Another day, school got a late start when Ben asked questions about his life in Korea.  I asked if he wanted to look through the pictures his “Omma” (foster mom) had given us and he did.  So we took some time to look through them and talk about them.  It is amazing to think that two years ago, he had a completely different life.  Different world entirely.

relaxed school days are a good idea some times. Love the pictures. I am amazed at how Ben tucks right under Abby’s arm. She has really shot up……and looks so grown up. I wonder how much Ben will remember of Korea when he is grown.
