We had a nice, quiet Christmas this year. We stayed home and spent most of the break just doing stuff around the house. Reading, playing, cleaning, relaxing.
This picture is from our church party. I didn’t know until afterwards, of course, that Abby crossed her arms funny and smirked, or that Ben wasn’t even looking. Sigh. I thought it would get easier to take family pictures as they got older, not harder.
We went caroling in our neighborhood with some people from church. We had a good turn out, but for some reason people weren’t super receptive to being visited by carolers. But a few were, and hopefully we spread some Christmas cheer — you know, by singing loud for all to hear.
We had our annual cookie baking and decorating date with friends.
The girls played a couple of concerts with the homeschool strings group.
Check out Emma as concert mistress. Proud mama. (Abby played with the advanced group, but I couldn’t get a picture where she was visible.)
Emma and I sang with a little Christmas choir – just one song – at church on Christmas Sunday.
And we sang a duet on Christmas Eve. (I’m thankful for the person who took pictures.)
Christmas morning – ready for the unwrapping!
And last Sunday, Ben lost his first tooth! He was eating wings, and didn’t even notice that he’d lost it. I saw the empty spot in his mouth first. 🙂
This week has been quiet and restful. We had extra frosting and toppings from our earlier cookie-making venture, so obviously we had to make more cookies to use that up.
Happy New Year!
